Services and Advice to Householders
The Council provides a weekly collection of household waste from every domestic property.
Collections
On waste collection days, householders are asked to carefully place their box or bin at the back of the pavement before 7.30 am. Please have the bin lid closed to prevent litter and reduce accidents caused by overfilled bins falling from the collection vehicle.
We do not lift excess waste, but you may request a Bulky Uplift or use the Forthbank Recycling Centre in Alloa.
The collection day for your bin may be different from the collection day for your box.
Properties which lack the facilities to recycle, such as blocks of flats, will be included as soon as it is practical.
Bins
In most properties, the service operates on a 2 week cycle to collect
- mixed household waste in your green bin one week, and
- garden waste with cardboard in your brown bin the following week.
In spring 2009 there will be changes to the way we collect material for recycling. More information is available on our blue bin page.
Blue Boxes
Blue boxes with recyclable waste are collected every week.
Holidays
During the Christmas holidays your collection day may change, please check our web pages and local press for changes. Other holiday dates will not affect your service.
Help with taking your bin out
If you cannot present your bin, we may bring the bin out for you if there is no-one else in your household to do this.
