Disability Equality Scheme

Employee Training

Employees currently take part in training and awareness raising sessions on a range of equal opportunities issues

In addition to existing provision, training will be offered to all employees on the implementation of the Disability Equality Scheme and the achievement of equality targets as set out in the Action Plan. Each Council service produces a 3 year Service Plan and these targets will be reflected there. Diversity training forms a key part of induction packages to ensure that all new employees and all newly promoted staff are aware of the Council's commitment to equality of opportunity and their responsibilities.

The training is co-ordinated and delivered by Human Resources but, over the past three years there has been an increase in the role played by service colleagues which reflects the Council's mainstreaming approach to equal opportunities.

In addition to in-house provision, training is also offered in conjunction with our partner agencies. This enables us to maximise the expertise available across Forth Valley and provides us with access to a wider range of training opportunities.
