- 0 - 17 population in Clackmannanshire was 10,906 (mid year estimates 2007) which was 22% of the population
- As at September 2008, the Clackmannanshire primary school population was 3,892 and the secondary school population was 2,949
- About 39% of Clackmannanshire school pupils live in the most deprived areas
- In 2007/08 there were 97 Child Protection referrals, with 30 children placed on the Child Protection register
- As at 31 March 2008, there were 174 Looked After Children in Clackmannanshire
- In 2007/08 73% of Looked After Children were accommodated away from home
