This area of Services to People provides the following services:
Social Work Services
Providing professional oversight of all social work activities either purchased or provided by the authority.
Adult Care
Adult Care provides a wide range of services for adults with care needs, for example older people, people with mental health problems, people with physical disabilities or people who have a learning difficulty. An assessment of need is the basis for deciding what kind and level of services should be provided. Access to services is then arranged to meet individual care needs and can include:
- Home care
- Day care
- Care Home Provision
- Mobile Emergency Care Services (MECS)
- Meals on wheels
- Respite care
- Counselling and benefits advice
- Post hospital care
- Equipment and adaptations
- Shopping
- Employment skills training
Child Care Services
Child Care Services, based in Alloa, offer support, advice and assistance to children and their families. This includes:
- Adoption and Fostering services
- Advice and assistance in Child Care matters
- Child protection services
- Looked After Children
- Services to children with a disability, or affected by the disability of others
- Youth Justice
Criminal Justice Services
Criminal Justice Services works with offenders in the community and in the longterm prison at HMP Glenochil. The Community Team provides supervision to people referred by the court system, background reports for Sheriffs and Judges on people convicted of offences, and operates the Community Services system.
