Twinning Youth Exchange Visits
Twinning Project - Youth exchange visits for young people aged 12 to 15
Clackmannanshire Council's third youth exchange programme with our twin towns in France and Spain takes place from the 27th June to 16th July 2009.
Week 1
The first part of the youth exchange programme will offer the opportunity for 12 young people from Clackmannanshire to travel to Vendargues in France, and for 12 young people to travel to Espartinas in Spain to spend 10 nights from 27 June to 7 July 2009 with a French or Spanish person of the same age and their family.
Week 2
The second part of the youth exchange will offer the same 24 young people from Clackmannanshire the opportunity to host their French or Spanish partners from 7th to 16th July 2009.
Programme
All young people participating in the exchange visits will be expected to participate in a programme of planned activities which will take place during both parts of the youth exchange programme.
Key Aims
The key aims of the exchanges will be to experience everyday life in either France of Spain, learn about different cultures and customs, and improve foreign language skills.
A basic knowledge of French or Spanish would be useful, but it is not essential.
Adult Supervision
Two experienced Council employees will accompany each of the two groups of 12 young people from Clackmannanshire going to France and Spain. Each of the French and Spanish groups of young people will also be accompanied by two adults.
Cost
Although the youth exchanges will be subsidised, participating families will be expected to pay a contribution of around £150 towards overall costs.
