Use of Council Minibuses by Community Groups
Clackmannanshire Council makes a number of 17 seat minibuses available in the evening and at weekends for use by non-profit making voluntary groups who are concerned with the transportation of elderly or disabled residents within Clackmannanshire to various events or trips. Clackmannanshire Council does not charge groups for the use of these vehicles.
Each Group must provide its own driver(s), who must:
- be over 21 years of age;
- be under 70 years of age;
- if under 25 years of age, have passed a driving assessment;
- have a full, current driving licence;
- be MIDAS trained;
- be registered with Clackmannanshire Council Fleet Services.
If any of the above conditions are not met, the Council is unable to provide insurance cover and therefore, use of the vehicle. Fleet Services can provide a driving assessment for under 25s, this service is chargeable. MiDAS training is available from Dial a Journey in Stirling, tel 01786 465355.
