CFSLA Payroll Lottery Committee

The CFSLA was established in 1996 following local government reorganisation. It was the continuation of an organisation which began with the staff of Central Regional Council in 1994.

CFSLA (Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling Local Authorities) is made up of the employees of all three partricipating councils and the Police, Fire and Assessors service as well as Forth Valley College. Cash is raised by way of a voluntary monthly prize draw. After paying out the prize money the remaining money is used to help mainly local groups - we also contribute to national/international emergency appeals.

Since 1996 we have given away to community groups donations to a value in excess of £200,000. The distribution committee consists of 15 employees drawn from the three councils, Police, Fire or Assessors.

The employee committee meets regularly to consider applications from Charity, Community and Voluntary Groups. Applications are considered in four categories;

Establishment of new groups.
Development of existing groups.
Maintaining current service of existing groups.
Employee fund-raising in support of eligible groups.

Funding is normally in the form of equipment, materials, etc. We only give cash in exceptional circumstances.

This group is not a formal part of any council's discretionary grant making and all approaches regarding applications should be made directly to CFSLA.
